+ 20/20/20

Three workouts in one! The 20/20/20 class is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength training, and 20 minutes of stretching and core work. This class is a Fit Club must!! Are you ready for the challenge?

+ Ballroom

Ballroom dancing is known as the partner dances which began in the Western world. With much recent publicity, people are enjoying ballroom dancing both socially and competitively around the globe. Films, television, and stages everywhere are broadcasting this style of dance.

Both young and old can learn and enjoy the many styles of dances. In the United States, there are four variations of the styles of dance which include International Standard, International Latin, American Smooth, and American Rhythm. There are different amateur dance proficiency levels defined by USA Dance. The main levels include Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

At In Step, you will learn the how to glide across the dance floor like a star! Posture, terminology, and basic facts will be taught. A partner is NOT needed to learn the dances but can be verrrryyyy helpful. ANYONE can dance!

+ Barre Fitness

Barre is a low-impact fitness class which uses movement inspired by ballet, yoga, and Pilates. The ballet barre is used for balance while doing exercises which focus on strength training and contracting a specific set of muscles. We will do lots of reps combined with small range-of-motion movements. The goal is to lengthen and sculpt muscles, to increase flexibility, and to improve body mechanics.

The Barre class is demanding and requires focus, and it will help you face the rest of your day calmly, confidently, and healthfully.
The Barre class is set to upbeat music and starts with a short warm-up sequence followed by upper-body exercises, push-ups and planks. Light weights may be used. The class also includes ballet barre or floor exercises which focus on the lower body, followed by some stretching.

No dance experience is required. All types of people take Barre classes. Modifications are offered, and students are challenged but work at their own pace. Safety and correct positioning are very important. The Barre class is done barefoot or sometimes with socks, and please bring a yoga or exercise mat if you have one. If not, there are some mats available at the studio.

+ Crossfit Kettlebells

Exercising with a bowling-ball-shaped weight with a handle may seem a bit unusual at first, but kettlebell training is one of the best ways to get a lean, sexy and well defined physique – FAST!
Believe it or not, these hand held gyms do it all. Their simple and functional design allows you to perform explosive movements while developing tremendous strength and endurance. You’ll challenge all the muscles in your body from grip to glutes, slash fat quickly, build muscular strength and endurance, Increase flexibility, and boost your energy.

So why is kettlebell training just now becoming one of the most sought after training methods in the country? Because ’bells’ produce outstanding results in less time. In order to lose body fat you must increase your level of perceived exertion. In other words, you must workout really hard and break a sweat! But who wants to spend all day in the gym? That’s where ‘bell training comes in. Because they are designed to work all your muscles, including your cardiovascular system, ’bells provide the ultimate full body, calorie smashing workout in as little as 30 minutes. Clients are able to transform their physiques, and breakthrough training plateaus in record time.

+ In Step Fit Club

The In Step Fit Club is a new way to meet your fitness goals. ISFC is here to motivate you by offering a wide variety of fitness options to help you enjoy a healthier lifestyle while having fun and making new friends.

In Step Fit Club offers UNLIMITED fitness classes, personal training (additional discounted fee applies to PT), fitness assessments, blood pressure & heart rate monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, exercise prescription, nutritional guidance, and special activities that are only offered to club members. All club benefits are overseen by a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor.

In Step Fit Club accommodates a wide range of goals, from weight loss to learning some new dance moves! It is geared towards adults, but is appropriate for teens interested in a healthier lifestyle as well.

Upon registering, you will have a screening health history, body fat analysis, blood pressure and heart rate monitoring and nutritional and lifestyle modification guidance in a friendly and informal setting.

In Step Fit Club is run by a qualified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Certified Personal Trainer. This class is an approved clinical internship site for West Virginia University Undergraduate and Masters Exercise Physiology Students.

+ Personal Training

Want to get in shape, but feel like you need some 1 on 1 guidance? Or are you currently working out and feel like you need to kick it up a notch? Our Clinical Exercise Physiologist and ACE certified personal trainer can help you reach your goals. In a 30 minute or 1 hour session, you will be guided through a cardio and strength training program that will be tailor made to fit your needs. You can also add a fitness assessment to your package which will measure your fitness level now and show your improvements in a 12 week period.

+ Rock-N by Baby

Enjoy getting healthy and strong while still snuggling your baby.
Rock-N by Baby utilizes basic dance moves and strength training to help you get fit all while wearing your baby in a carrier.
It is important/required to use an ergonomically carrier to class. If you do not have an ergonomically carrier you may still attend class, however you will be responsible for bring a scarf or piece of non-stretchy fabric big enough to tie around yourself. The fabric/scarf will be used to convert your carrier into the ergonomically correct position for your child. Recommended carriers include; Tula, Kinderpack, Lillebaby, Beco, Ergo, Mei Tei and non- stretchy wraps. If you have questions regarding the safety of a carrier you own please contact the instructor.

You are solely responsible for your and your child's safety at all times. It is up to you to ensure your child is properly/securely in the carrier or wrap. It is also up to you to ensure your child's head is properly supported at all times.

Children must be at least 3 months old and mother must be cleared by physician to exercise post partum. Children must meet the requirements for the carrier being used (they may not exceed the weight limit). You may "back-carry" during class as long as the child is at least 1year old and meets carrier requirements to back carry. Pregnant women (as NON-child wearing participants) are welcome as long as you are cleared by your physician for exercise.

+ STRONG by Zumba

STRONG by Zumba™ combines high intensity interval training with the science of Synced Music Motivation. In every class, music and moves sync in a way that pushes you past your perceived limits, to reach your fitness goals faster.

+ Turbo Kick

Burn calories and blast fat! Turbo Kick® mixes kickboxing and simple dance moves with music that makes you want to move it! You’ll love having fun and losing weight. It won’t even seem like you’re working out.

+ Urban Boot Camp

UBC™ is a High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class that incorporates a variety of calisthenics, weight training, and basic hip hop moves to create routines that are motivating, fun and challenging to a mix of hip hop music. This class will help improve your cardiovascular endurance, build strength, and prevent you from reaching a fitness plateau. Modifications are always offered, open to all fitness levels.

+ Wedding Choreography

Do you and your honey want to WOW your friends and family at your wedding reception? In Step can teach you how! With 4 lessons, you can glide across the floor with a graceful waltz, jump and jive with some jazzy swing, or leave them wanting more with a saucey tango.

Would you like to be proceded down the ailse by a group of beautiful ballerinas? Or have a hand in getting the most out of your wedding day photos? In Step's Wedding Choreography also offers expertise in organizing and placing members of your bridal party at the wedding and reception for the best look and most romantic feel.

+ Yoga

Yoga is a vast collection of spiritual techniques and practices aimed at integrating mind, body and spirit to achieve a state of enlightenment or oneness with the universe. What is normally thought of as "yoga" in the West is really Hatha Yoga, one of the many paths of yoga. The different paths of yoga emphasize different approaches and techniques, but ultimately lead to the same goal of unification and enlightenment

+ Zumba

When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

Zumba (for beginners)
This class is designed to break down the basic steps that are involved in a Zumba Fitness class so that all participants feel comfortable and get the most out of their Zumba workout!

Zumba in the Circuit
Maximize your workout while still having a total blast. Zumba in the Circuit is 30 minutes of high-octane, Latin-inspired dance-fitness moves combined with circuit training, a series of strength exercises at timed intervals. Get the metabolism-boosting, strength-building benefits of circuit training while perfecting Zumba moves—all in the same class! Guaranteed to blast calories and thwart boredom, Zumba in the Circuit moves students from one exercise station to the next to the thumping beats of reggaeton, salsa, merengue, hip-hop and more. + Zumba Gold

Zumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. What stays the same are all the elements the Zumba Fitness-Party is known for: the zesty Latin music, like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggaeton; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere.

+ Zumba Toning

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs. Zumba Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.
